Dana White expresses support for Power Slap, calls it a “brutal and exciting sport”

After recent criticism of Power Slap, UFC President Dana White has come out in support of the sport and called it “brutal and exciting.”

In an interview with MMA Junkie, White praised the athletes who compete in Power Slap, saying “these guys are tough as nails, and they’re putting it all on the line in that ring.”

White also addressed recent comments from Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) Chairman Stephen J. Cloobeck, who called Power Slap a “mistake.” White disagreed with Cloobeck’s assessment, saying “I think it’s a great addition to combat sports. It’s something new and exciting, and it’s drawing in a lot of fans.”

Despite concerns about the safety of the sport, White maintained that he trusts the athletes to compete at their highest level. “These guys know what they’re getting into. They’re warriors, and they’re willing to take those risks,” he said.
