DANA WHITE COMPARES POWER SLAP TO EARLY DAYS OF UFC

LAS VEGAS, NV – In a recent interview, UFC President Dana White drew comparisons between the controversial “power slap” technique and the early days of the UFC.

White explained that the power slap, which involves slapping an opponent with an open hand instead of punching, has been used in combat sports for years, but has recently gained attention due to its use in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

“This reminds me of the early days of the UFC,” White said. “Back then, people thought we were barbaric for allowing things like headbutts and groin strikes, but now those techniques are banned in most combat sports. Who knows, maybe one day the power slap will be a staple in the UFC.”

White acknowledged that the power slap is a controversial technique, but said that he believes it adds an element of unpredictability to fights.

“Anything that can mix things up and keep fans on the edge of their seats is good for the sport,” he said.

Critics of the power slap argue that it is dangerous and can cause serious injury. However, proponents argue that it is a legitimate technique that can be used to set up other strikes and create openings for takedowns.

The debate over the power slap is likely to continue, but one thing is for certain: as long as there are fighters willing to use it, it will remain a part of combat sports.
